Vincentian Housing Partnership PDF Print E-mail

vinchousing_240.jpgThe Vincentian Housing Partnership was officially opened in October 1995 to provide transitional housing for people who are homeless and vulnerable, aged between 20 and 50, male or female, single or couples, with or without children.

The Vincentian Housing Partnership is a collaborative ministry of the Daughters of Charity, the Vincentian Fathers, and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.   We endeavour to provide a welcoming and supportive environment promoting dignity and independence for our clients whilst also creating an atmosphere of respect for each person. Through guidance, support, and acceptance we provide our clients with the necessary resources and skills to make responsible life choices.

The Vincentian Housing Partnership maintains a Christian ethos while respecting the beliefs and cultures of all those who live and those who work in Rendu Apartments.

Volunteers are an integral and invaluable part of the team in the Vincentian Housing Partnership. Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and ages with varying skills. However, we greatly welcome anyone who is willing to give of their time whether they have specific skills or not.   All volunteers are provided with support and supervision and with training where necessary.

Volunteers perform a variety of roles:

  • Hospitality & Welcoming
  • Resettlement
  • Befrienders
  • Counsellors
  • Literacy Tutors
  • Computer Tutors
  • Sport
  • Cookery
  • Relaxation Therapy
  • Reflexology
  • Yoga
  • Interview techniques
  • Child care
  • Interior design

Anyone who is interested in volunteering should apply to the volunteer coordinator.  He /she will be asked to attend an interview and to supply personal and/or professional references prior to acceptance.
