Two Irish girls, Colette OLoughlin and Leone McCoole, will head off for Kenya in January 2008 to work with the Daughters of Charity. Both of them work in Daughters of Charity services in Ireland, and this has prepared them well for the kind of work they will do in Kenya. In brief essays below, they introduce themselves and describe their hopes and expectations.
Two DC volunteers, Anne ODriscoll and Mairead Burke, are travelling to the Ukraine in June 2008 to work on a street project with homeless children. Anne hails from Donegal while Mairead is from Claremorris, and both women have already had experience working with children within the child and family service of the Daughters of Charity here in Ireland.
The DREAM project is designed to assist Kenyans in ensuring that their children will not be born HIV-positive.
