On Tuesday, 26th February 2008, four students from St Johns University College in New York arrived in All Hallows College to study a course on Vincentian Service as part of an International studies programme. They have already been to Paris, and after their five weeks study in Ireland they will be off to Rome to continue the programme there. Rob, Zac, Philippe and Marisa tell us about their experience.
"Ireland has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience for me. The famous Irish hospitality was certainly evident at All Hallows where everyone went out of their way to accommodate us and make us feel welcome in their home. Ireland is a beautiful country and I cant wait to return here some day!" Rob Schubert
I have yet to find the elusive leprechaun or a pot of gold in Ireland, but I did find much hospitality, many smiling faces, and Irish culture. This is truly a beautiful place. Zac Nishino
"Ahhh, in the land where there are 40 different types of green and the legends of Molly Malone and a certain girl from Galway roam the streets. This is Ireland." Philippe Pierre
"Hmm.. Let me think: what words come to mind when I think of Ireland? 'Amazing and genuine people', 'hospitality', 'inspiring and beautiful sights', etc. When I reflect on Ireland and the Irish, I get a sense of welcome and graduated towards everything. This experience has been one I will never forget and will cherish in my heart always." Marisa Penepent
